I like to have a low gravity, easy going "basic drinker" on tap at all times, such that I can drink a lot of beer and not turn into a barbarian around my family. This is that. Its basically a really simple simon english ordinary bitter, but with american hops. Simcoe or other high alpha hops work as well, just keep them balanced. I first started doing these beers a few years ago by taking the former place's belligerent SOB recipe and turning it into a ten gallon batch by doubling the water only. It works!
