Out of all the toys I have, I cant believe I don't have a keg/carboy washer. So today I rounded up some spare parts and put one together. The best part of this entire project is that it is 100% FREE! Hopefully the copper dip tube doesn't get the black crusty crap. I plan on rinsing w/water after use. If it does, I will switch it to plastic. A few pics....I couldn't get the intake all SS the way I wanted them. So it got a hose instead w/TC fittings.Posted Image Big Kong pump..Posted ImageThe dip tube has a union on it so I can change it out if the keg wants to be a Keggle sometime. Diptube fittings as well.Posted Image

Nice project. That looks like a nice handy piece of equipment. You will never have a reason to say any of that equipment is dirty.

It took me a while to figure out that the gas-in, and liquid out QD's run at the same time as main wash nozzle. I was looking for a ball valve to switch back and forth between them.Nice design

That's one of the best gadgets I've seen in a while. If I had one of those, there would be no more reason for me to stand out in driveway in cold weather, getting my feet wet, washing down kegs and carboys with a garden hose. You can stay in the garage or basement, stay warm and dry, and save water and cleaner too.

There are alot of keg washer designs out there Stellar using sump pumps and 5g plastic buckets. I didn't have any of that stuff, but i did have all these things pictured.

That's pretty slick. Now I get to add another project to the procrastinated brewery project list.......

Looks like the horsepower on that pump may be bringing it weak. Sure that thing is up to the task of cleaning those dingy, dirty kegs? ;)

What no foot pedal switch? From the looks of that pump it might be a good idea so you can keep both hands on the keg being cleaned. Nicely done!

wonder if a salvaged sewing machine pedal would do the trick?

Only reason I thought of it was I saw it on a brewery tour once and they were cleaning kegs. Operator could have both hands on the keg and had a couple different foot pedals to run what I would presume was a caustic and then rinse through the kegs. Looked pretty slick.

We got a foot pedal switch for our carboy\keg cleaner at Harbor Freight for $12! Works like a charm and is rated for 15 amps.

Nice work!A buddy of mine has a very similar setup. He also added a hot water heating element on an A419, so he cleans with very hot water as well.
