I have a 6 pack of sierra nevada bottles here and I noticed the part the wing capper would grip is slightly shorter than most bottles. Will it still work on these? Someone must have tried it before...

I have used SN Pale Ale, Porter and Stout bottles if and when I bottle beer and have had no problems. I don't think you will have an issue. My suggestion is cap a bottle and put it upside down for a time I would believe that gravity and any space btw cap and bottle would allow beer to leak and therefore would show that it would not hold pressure but I feel you should be alright to use these.

no problems here. The only pop top bottles I've had consistent problems with is New Belgium. It seems that around 1/50 would break at the neck with my wing capper when I tried to use them, but as always YMMV.

I dumped my wing capper after the first year. Unless financially hindered, a bench capper is a great investment.I got sick and tired of playing dominoes with 12 oz. open beer bottles.

I bottle one or two batches a year so it's not really a good investment. The wife does all of my capping so there is never more than one open bottle at a time.

This for sure..

I dumped my wing capper after the first year 6 months. Unless financially hindered, a bench capper is a great investment.I got sick and tired of playing dominoes with 12 oz. open beer bottles.

...as well as this...

...but I understand this also. My auto-adjusting bench capper was ~$40 @ LHBS, but, I don't keg. I've been playing with the idea of getting a second capper and linking/connnecting them so I can cap two at a time. With my setup I fill two at a time.Beach
