I just bumped into an opportunity for a local brewpub to serve some of my beer. He has log kegs, and they have sanke tops. So I am pretty much concerned about how to do a normal purge, fill, and carb routine. I think I remember reading something awhile back on that old place which was green about it. Anyone do(ing) this? Any advice?

I have I just remove the spear purge with CO2, fill with the beer replace the spear and hook up to CO2 push any air out by purging with co2.(there is a co2 release on the side of the coupler).Leave hooked up to c02 to carb. it is really the same as a sanke except removing the spear, pliers and a screw driver will remove the ring.

I have an empty sanke in my garage and just checked it out. Exactly how do you use the pliers and screwdriver for removal of the spear? I haven't done one in a few years to make my keggle, and I dont want to screw it up so I can replace the fitting.
