So back to my unrefurbished POS kegs from B3 :devil:One of the pressure relief valves from the two I bought won't seal up (fortunately the other one did so I wasn't completely screwed when I kegged my dunkel this morning). What can I do to fix it? Does the spring just need to be stretched out or something?

Do you mean this part:https://stores.kegconnection.com/Detail.bok?no=239You can try some keg lube, but for me, that has only been a short stop-gap, and the problem usually returns soon enough. I would recommend just replacing it or getting a new lid.

I've got the same issue with one of my lids. Heading to the LHBS this morning anyway and will see if they either have a new lid or replacement valve.

It's confusing to me where the problem is b/c I put a diff valve in the same lid and it seems good to go. The "bad" valve looks to be in okay condition and I lubed the rubber part on the end to encourage a good seal.

Do they individual replacement lids for corny kegs? Might just be easier to go that route.

I've had this problem too, and found that it occurred when I stripped a bunch of kegs and reassembled them with random parts. When I looked closer, I found the lids had lines or circles etched around the fitting the PRV screws into. Some lids had 2 lines, some had 1, some had none. The PRVs themselves looked identical, but some sealed in 2 lined lids, some didn't but sealed in 1 lined lids. So you may not have a bad PRV but a mis-match. I think there are similar differences in the poppet valves. I also found some PRVs had black plastic bodiesand some gray plastic. Don't know if this is significant, but I ended up swapping kegs at my LHBS so I had all 2 line lids with gray plastic bodies, and curved dip tubes so I have less randomness in my keg parts. Nothing worse that random keg parts.I won't bet my lunch on the differences in lids and PRVs. Maybe someone with more definite knowledge can confirm or deny this.

This is one reason why I only work with one keg at a time. I have so many kegs, both pin lock, and ball lock, as well as firestone and cornelius, that in order for me to keep everything straight and matched correctly, I can only work with one at a time.It sounds like the OP is working only with a single keg that has issues though. I have enough extra lids right now that I just put a new one on to see if it seals well, and if it does, I just use that one. Lids are becoming more expensive now too (I once bought a set of 10 lids for around 40 shipped, they have been raising their prices over the last few years though, and now are around double that).

I was using the parts that were on the keg as B3 sent it to me. I have already discovered they were using mismatched poppets in the other keg I bought from them so if this didn't match either I wouldn't be surprised.

Exactly correct. There are 2 types of relief valves. There are different # of holes in the stainless fitting and the grey ones fit one type and the black the other. The one on sale at keg connection is the new universal relief valve, and a good price too.

It would be a great price if they didn't charge so much for shipping - $10 to ship one PRV? F that. :D
