I have some sparkling cider on tap that I would like to transfer to bottles. I was thinking about doing the 22 oz or 750 mL beer bottles with corks and cages but I have no experience with corking. Would this be a suitable way to bottle a cider? Can anyone give me any tips on bottling and corking?

I occasionally will carbonate up some wine to make wine coolers for the little lady. I usually just crimp a cap on the bottle and haven't had any problems with them. Unless you are looking for something a little classier for gifts or something.I haven't ever tried corking anything carbonated.

When I bottled (haven't for years) I used the green champagne bottles, plastic corks and wire cages. Many folks don't like the plastic corks and I'm not so sure I'd use them for long-term storage.I always liked the strength of the champagne bottles over beer bottles even for a still cider as a bottle bomb in my storage area would have been disastrous.
