I always use pellet hops and recently started using hop bags to get clearer wort to the kettle. My question is if I add aroma hops with 1 minute left in the boil when do I pull the hop bag out? I've been doing it part way through the chilling basically because it is a convenient time to remove them. Since I am no longer boiling does it matter when I remove them? I'm thinking if I didn't use the bags the hops would have to remain in the kettle until the chill is completed and I rack to the carboy.

I don't use hop bags myself but I think your thinking above makes sense. If I were using them I would leave them in the wort till I was ready to transfer to my carboy. As you said pellets would remain in contact till transfer too. Maybe if you took the hop bags out earlier you might tell a difference but it could make for an interesting experiment. I would leave them in till I started my wort transfer though too.

flavor and aroma additions stay in until after chilled, bittering usually gets taken out at end of boil.

Next time I'll leave them all in until transfer and see if I can notice a difference. It will be easier to pull them out when they are cool and I don't have to worry about sanitation in the kettle anymore.
