So im checking out my hop bags which I am forced to use when whole leaf is unavailable.I noticed that the bags are at least 90% clogged. You cant even blow air thru em. They are brown and you cant see light thru em anymore. Sure I plan to replace them they are cheap but the ones at my local LHBS are very fine. Im not sure about the utilization using them, I do have a couple. My nice ones are the clogged ones. Anyone ever try and clean hop bags of beer stone? A soak in PBW might likely dissolve the bags? I soak the paint strainer bags that I use as hop bags in Oxyclean after every use. They start out looking caked in brown sludge and after an hour all the brown has been dissolved off. The bags are unharmed.

I like that tip! Also the paint strainer bag tip. Going to go out and look in the paint cabinet and see if I have any clean ones. Honestly the ones I get from my LHBS are really really fine.C.B
