Anyone try this one? Any idea what I can expect from it?

I used it a couple of years back in a few beers, as well as having drunk a fair amount of Coopers which is where the yeast is from apparently. Coopers is the biggest microbrewery here, maybe not even a micro any more but still an independent brewery that makes bottle-conditioned beers which is worth supporting. It's a hard-working yeast that works in a number of styles. I used it in an Aussie ale (something along the blonde ale lines), a brown ale, a porter, an APA and an American IPA. I even used it in a cider. It works really well with darker beers, attenuates well, moderate fruity flavour and aroma - though I've never really picked up the bready flavours White Labs suggest. With the IPA it tended to bring out the malts more and that left me with a really well balanced beer. I liked it a lot. It also works pretty cleanly at higher temps, something the yeast cultured up from a Coopers bottle often doesn't do.Actually, if I didn't have packs of Wyeast in my fridge, I'd be tempted to get some more of this again this year. Must resist hoarding tendencies, must resist....

WLP009 ? Where can you find it? I've been looking but haven't found it. It was Jan-Feb, and dang it if I didn't miss it.

I love this yeast. Fast working, solid flocc with a very good malt accenting character & bready nose. Great for fruitier browns. Very forgiving of higher temp fermentation. I wish it were part of their regular lineup still but I can't expect them to keep on in production just for me.
