It's basically half rpg, half hardcore early 15th century Bohemia simulator.

The fighting is my major hurdle to try it. I don't usually like this much realism in my video game fights.

I still find combat annoying, mostly because moving a mouse is not a substitute for pushing a stick and does not work well with the 'direction-attack' methodology, not at all. (I'm thinking of trying my controller for fighting, actually.)
Also the fact that it does not allow me to choose which monitor to use full screen is bullshit. Windowed mode doesn't work because the most pointer is not confined to the game screen and it's all too easy to find yourself accidentally clicking outside the window and losing focus - while the enemies keep pounding you.

First, the mouse I was using was failing. It was acting odd last night, but not bad enough that I realized. This evening it failed for real.
Second, the new controller made a massive difference. Combat is doable and I've finally been able to do combos on demand rather than with luck. I'm trying to use it full time and learning slowly. I do miss having all the buttons and the instinctive mouse look is not quite there yet with the right joystick. But I'm getting there. The only thing I haven't been able to manage at all is lock picking; for that one I have to go back to the keyboard. It's an 8BitDo Ultimate 2C 2.4GHz.

Huge update yesterday. Took about half an hour for me to download it from Steam, so you guys playing might want to fire it up and get it over with so it doesn't hold you up when you sit down to play.
There were 34 "pages" of update notes, most of them seem to be balance-related. Lots of stuff to make stealing less game-breaking, such as the stolen marker no longer disappearing after a few days. Lots of bug fixes, some graphics and performance improvements. Overall the list of changes mostly sounded good to me.

I think it's a good thing overall because it was too easy to manipulate. With a little luck and save-scumming, you can finish The Jaunt quest in Semine within the first two hours of starting the game. That puts a guy in Semine castle who you can just kill or incapacitate in his sleep after sneaking into the castle, then you're set up with armor that is some of the best available in the entire game - WAY better than anything available in Trosky region. All you had to do was wait a few days for the stolen marker to fade and you could walk right back into the same castle wearing it with no repercussions. I think it's much more balanced now without removing player choice. You can still do all that stuff and get the armor, but you'll have to be careful about where you wear it now.
They also nerfed the shit out of Ancient Moonshine (sorry Vagus), which makes sense because it was vastly overpowered and overvalued, plus it respawned 2 jugs every few days. Now it's just a great potion instead of the Super Soldier Serum it used to be.
They did NOT nerf Henry's Fox potion (+50% experience for two days!), though which kind of surprised me.

I really hate the outcome of the wedding.
Also, Henry gets laid a lot.

140 Hours and still in Trosky region, LOL.
Pretty much running with everything but Speech at 30. Drinking is lagging at 20 because I tried tee-totalling for a long time until I realized that story stuff would make me drink and I needed to be decent at it. Now I drink something every time my previous drink runs out. With Ascetic from Vitality, I don't even really need to eat anymore, hehe.
I always front-load open world games like this and dominate the main quest when I finally get to it. I just finished The Storm main quest without trouble after the game took all my shit (Again!). Getting ready to leave the cave after work tonight.
