And I saw a bag of raw peanuts in shell.

Hours later my mind bubbled up a thought:

"Can I smoke these?"

It seems YES you can

OK, stop me, encourage me, or just get the hell out of the way!

So, how'd they turn out? Did you roast them post-smoke?

Been down with bronchitis. Z-pack made the bugs go bye-bye; but 19 days later I'm still coughing up the crud with a slight fever and mild tachycardia. Doc says the lungs are clear but I have zero energy. I'll give a report when I'm back on my feet. Sorry to keep you in suspense.

Have instant  pot,

Have Old Bay

Have smoker (don't use that liquid crap) Tried that in a RauchBeir once... Never again!

Have screened smoking trays

Sorry I missed a question that despite my compromised condition I should have answered.

I'm not using a charcoal fired BBQ. I have an electric upright smoker, closed with a PID controller on it.

So I think after the few sticks of soaked oak burn off I'll just crank up the temps as needed.

Should be the same as an oven roast I think, or did I miss something?
