With the other discussion going on methods of DHing, thought I would branch out to what is preferred by stle. I just dryhopped a Mac and Jack clone amber with summits. I added some orange peel to the boil, so it has a citrusy note already, and the summits give it this real bold pineapply aroma. There is still a slight grassy to the flavor, but that usually works out of the taste after a couple weeks in the keg for me. I also just recemtly did a DIPA with 9 oz total in 5 gallons, 3 cascade, 3 cents, 3 amarillo. This beer has a pretty amazing nose.So a while back on the Jamil show they talked about experimenting with combinations and different durations. What are some of the DH variations you prefer for a certain style?

I did an IPA with the same hops and proportions and it was great. My house IPA is all cents, every 15 min starting with FWH and then a heavy D/H. Also, a GumballHead-esq D/H'd with cents and amarillo. I love the citrus aroma that both of these hops give. Beach

I've used Cascade, Amarillo in a pinch and did a brown with hallertau IIRC.However, I've heard never use Saaz.

I have tried Simcoe/Amarillo/Centennial throughout the entire brew in equal amounts( just IPA's) and liked it alot (DH also) but i have hit or miss when using those hops individually. The hops that surprised me in the last six months have been crystal(used 3 oz leaf in a brew) and it was great. May try them again. Also love the Columbus/Mt.hood combo. Williamette is great in Brown ales.I find most beers are better if they have a contrast of hops ,the single hops stuff is good. Just can be over done.IMO.
