Needed a speaker so I could play guitar or bass along with music in the bedroom or garage, looked at a set of studio monitors but those didn't really make sense because I wasn't sitting at a desk playing. So, I picked up a JBL Charge5 for $139. Fantastic speaker, loud, and the bass definition is on point. This fit the bill perfectly and I cant take it camping or set it on the table outside on the deck. The cool thing is there is an app you can use to control the EQ and link speakers together to create a stereo mode or party mode.

Yeah, the JBL BT speakers are great.  I've used it's little brother, the Flip5, for a couple years now.

I saw one of the little JBL ones at Costco today for $79. I got this cheap one, similar size, about a year ago for playing music in the garage, weight room, deck, etc. and it sounds really good for the size, was wondering if the JBL was that much better. For the size and your purposes, I'm sure it was worth the extra cost. https://www.amazon.c...e?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Oontz Angle for instruments?

We have some PA sized JBLs at work. They are pretty good for what they are. They are loud and full the space, although they aren’t the greatest sound quality. They’re ok but not great.

Brian, are you able to play guitar again? That’s pretty cool, I remember you saying your hands weren’t working great so you switched to bass. Glad you’re on the mend

I can play a little bit but the fatigue comes on fast really fast. I set up an hour long playlist yesterday and played along on bass and toward the middle I could feel the burn in my wrist but not near as bad as chord shapes and changes on a 6 stringer. I've pretty much come to terms with the notion that I'm a bass player now that just dabbles on guitar.

i use a vox amplug and use the headphone output of that into the Angle (i hate playing with headphones/earbuds), great little portable way to play and still have BT capability for just regular listening.
