Takes my Ninja about a minute to get up to temp.

when I use the air fry setting on my oven there is no pre heating required. Obviously it is not at 400 degrees instantaneously. I assume this is to compensate for the faster cooking times. You would see instruction to reduce cooking time when convection cooking.

You make toast in a blender? That's awesome.

Good toaster ovens are fantastic tools. They don’t make great toast IME. I use ours almost every time I cook. It has convection and it’s pretty even. It’s nice to have the second oven.

We've never seen the need for a toaster oven.  If I need that sort of cooking, the big oven will almost surely produce a better product. We have a 4 slice toaster that gets used 3+ times a week.  With 4 kids, there are many days it gets filled a couple of times.

We also have a large (18qt) Nesco roaster from the 1940s. It looks like this ad. Now that we have the double oven this is like having a 3rd. I need to plan a meal where all of them can be making something at a different temp.

For instance: tonight I am roasting a whole chicken. I will make croutons in the toaster oven and then roasted veg. It’s nice to have a second oven. Just like it’s nice to have a grill to cook stuff on while the smoker is running.

It doesn't work for everyone's situation, but the double oven is really nice if it fits your situation. I know some people who have the double full size oven mounted in their cabinets, and while nice, it mostly seems like overkill unless you're hosting huge gatherings regularly. The need for two oven temps is common, but the need for two full size ovens is rare.

We got this range last year (thanks Enid) and it is great: https://www.cafeappl...nge-CHS950P4MW2

It ditches the warmer drawer in favor of a larger oven (bottom oven is not much smaller than a standard oven). We have space elsewhere for cookie sheets, etc. This oven in particular is great because it has the depth to fit two cookie sheets in lengthwise.

The really nice "toaster" (countertop, really) ovens can probably produce similar results but take up a lot of counter space.

I'm going to start prepping dinner here in a bit and will use both - cooking fish at one temperature and roasting potatoes at a higher temp.

Probably performs the same as what we got. Our range goes in an island so we needed the slide in. Plus, we get what we want for the most part for cooking and food as that's our joy.

I timed while prepping: top (small) oven was 5.5 minutes to 350, bottom (large) oven was 6.5 minutes to 400 (eventually went to 425).

When I live in a more permanent, self-owned property again I will definitely pimp out the kitchen.

I use the toaster oven way more than our regular oven. Usually just to reheat stuff. My wife, for some weird reason, never uses it - she'll heat up the regular oven for a slice of pizza. But, I always use the toaster for bread or bagels. I get good use out of both.

My second oven is a warmer. I’ve used it twice in 8 years.

As far as the toasters go I just put mine back in the cabinet after a 5 minute cool down.

I kind of miss the double oven. When we got our new one I couldn't find a double oven I liked with induction...
