Neil young is Canadian. I would have had him on the list but I assumed we were defining America as USA. If we are defining it as the Americas the bob Marley wrote a lot of songs and defined a genre

 

He's a US citizen now. I'm claiming him. They can have Gordon Lightfoot.

one of the things about Neil young is he is still putting out new material. barn and toast were both good albums. I didn't like world record as much
