I'm talking about pickup tubes, threaded fittings, etc.

actually, I think this will be a pretty boring thread.  all I need is a threaded plug to start with here.  pickup tube maybe later....

how do I confirm I'm buying the right plug?

okay, so the diameter of the threaded hole looks to be 3/4".  is there a way to know I'm getting the right thread if I buy a SS plug?

alright, found a 316 SS plug I could order from home depot for a little cheaper and if I'm wrong... easy to return.

I one bought some 1/2" MPT to 1 1/2" TC on Amazon. The outsides were nice and polished, the insides looked like a blind welder's worst day. Tried to return them for refund, it fell through. SO if buying from AtoZ check vendor history. Yea, I know you guys are well ahead of me on this one. But for SS fittings, I've used Bargain Fittings

Hey. I just got 220 to my wood shop so I can build my keezer collar. The Brewery is a bit farther off. Hopefully not  too far. Will post picks, I promise, if I don't die of old age before then...

so what did I do wrong?  I ordered this: https://www.homedepo...2N034/321835509

but the OD of the threaded part looks like 1" even though it says 3/4" on the part itself.  do I actually need 1/2"???

What are you trying to plug up?

there is a port on my mash tun that had a thermometer in it.  the probe end of the thermo isn't sharp but it might snag on my BIAB bag so I wanted to remove it and just plug it up.  I found some diagrams showing a 1/2" plug had something like 11/16 or 13/16 OD which is pretty close to the 3/4" I see in the port.  so apparently you subtract 1/4" off the size of the hole to get the plug size?  I ordered another one from Amazon so it will hopefully get here on Monday.  worst case I return that one too :P

obviously this isn't a plug but look at this: https://www.ebay.com...AyABEgJAyPD_BwE

1/2 NPT is actually 20mm = 0.787402" which is about what I was measuring the hole diameter to be.

Typically they are all 1/2. I was going to see if I had one and ship it off but looks like you are good.
