It's different because a belch or fart is generally something you did.

A sneeze is something that happened to you.

Gesundheit means "Good Health" as in "I wish you good health because you just sneezed and may be coming down with the Black Plague / flu / cold / leprosy."

I do enjoy how it becomes a very obviously pointless competition of who can be the most polite and say it first in group settings.

My kids enjoy how violent my sneezes are. I really enjoy them as well.

Enjoyment all around.

Might be wrong but I don't think sneezing is a symptom of bubonic plague.

Pneumonic plague, however...

maybe, but I never cared to see if there was any truth to it. you know as well as I do the human body does some strange shit, no-one has it all figured, but yeah, I always suspected it was BS but never cared to check. like i said, doesn't even register as something I cared to find out about, even as an adult, even if I ~suspected~ it was bs, I dont care about it.

Maybe you should look into some of these things lol

you seem to think I care about this subject or even that I actually believed it. Never once did I say I agreed that it was accurate just that it was something some told me and I didn’t care enough to check. Y’all need to read a bit more it seems

I dunno what the deal is. Stain's link confirms that your heart can stop for a moment. But then starts back up because the electrical rythm is never interrupted, just the heart's ability to respond. Shoot, pretty sure my heart stops when i get into the wild final third of a mega chug. Does anyone say bless you? Hell no.

GODZILLA!

That's a pretty loose interpretation of "stop" in that article. My heart stopped a few times as I took a dump this morning.

Although it may seem that your heart takes a break during a sneeze, this is actually not the case. When you first inhale before sneezing, the pressure in your chest increases. Then, as you exhale forcefully during the sneeze the pressure drops. Alterations in blood flow to your heart produced by these pressure changes can affect the heart rate. However, the electrical activity in the heart marches on unimpeded–you remain very much alive throughout your sneeze!

The sensation and practical effect (however short lived) is the same. It's not unique to sneezing and well within operating specs. But it happens and people said a thing about it. Then Tony never looked it up.

Next time someone farts near me I'll say "gesundheit" or something similar

I actually always do this with a fart or belch.

This. I'm not religious, but growing up in Milwaukee with my German surname and 50% of the city being German descent, I've always said Gesundheit.

The fun part is being alone and sneezing... ordinarily you might expect a "bless you" but no one else is around but I say "thank you" anyway... ACHOO! followed directly by Thank you!

You should probably throw in a face punch when someone doesn't cover their mouth and sprays the Vid everyhwere.

When appropriate, I'll sneeze as loud as possible. It's that release tho.

Back in college, this girl was running her mouth and one of the things that came out was "Did you know that a sneeze [equates to] one seventh of an orgasm?"

Then we talked about vaginas for an hour. I think it was an hour, I couldn't see the clock on my computer cuz i was playing Operation Flashpoint. What a great game. I think that carried me through freshman and softmore year. Just being able to go from some dude in a squad with an M16 to hijacking a gunship and owning the entire map with high velocity HEAT rounds. Beautiful.

Like tony, i never looked it up.
