Oh, picked up Weezer tics a few days ago for June.  They've been a guilty pleasure of mine since early high school.  Seen them a couple times before.

I'll probably skip Syracuse to spend time with friends in Philly.  We went to Syracuse in 2016. It's a nice venue that they built.

I saw Mike Dillon and Punkadelic open up for Marco Benevento last night at the Thunderbird. Had not heard the opening band but they were killer. Bought the album on the way out.

Marco always puts on a great show and last night didn’t disappoint. I have seen him a lot over the years and he sometimes he is pushing a new album so he will play a lot from that. This show he played more of a greatest hits kind of show and it was a lot of fun.

Tried to get tickets for the Cure June 18 at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield MA but sold out in minutes and now the scalper bots that bought up all the tickets are reselling for over $1000.

The “reselling” stuff is just mechanical now. The original ticket sellers should just make everything market value because that’s what it ends up being regardless. The scalpers have programs that buy up all the tickets and then immediately put them on the ticket agency’s own “verified reseller” portal and mark them up to market value. Of course, now the ticket agency is getting a cut of the scalping action, so they are happy and they don’t have to take the bad press of selling all the good tickets for a fortune. And the scalpers likely don’t even have to lift a finger anymore. A computer program can take care of the entire process.

Original seller was ticketmaster which requires you to create a unique account and then enter a 6 digit code sent to your phone which gets you into the queue (I was something like 1000th in the queue the moment tickets were on sale).  Seems fishy that those tickets get bought up that quickly.

Yeah, it’s put on by a local place that does small shows at their venue (different than the festival location). That’s where we saw Shovels and Rope last year.

The majority of the Cure tour tickets were sold through a verified fan presale, so by the time the public onsale began, there were very few tickets left. I give the Cure props for keeping prices low and doing what can be done to keep scalpers from buying them, but unfortunately it did make tickets very hard to get unless you were lucky and got selected. That’s demand I guess. Robert Smith has been tweeting about it this week a bit

Also, you won’t be able to transfer these tickets, so I would not expect to really see them on resale sites, and I’d be wary of the ones that are on there. The only way to resell them is through Ticketmaster, though the good news is they will be face
