I brewed this about 5-6 weeks ago. It was my first time using Phantasm powder and Helio Gazer yeast. I haven't been drinking beer much lately (weight loss thing) but I poured a pint last night - even outside in the dark, the color didn't look right. I just pulled another glass and it has a weird brownish/gray color while it was originally a pale straw color. I don't know how I introduced oxygen - it was a low pressure fermentation followed by a closed transfer into a pressurized keg. It still tastes pretty good but I assume I will start losing hoppiness shortly. Weird AF!

if the keg still had pressure it couldn't have been leaking very much.  any other new variables?

I had that happen when a keg lost pressure. Happened real fast too. My condolences.

I've wondered about that b/c I've had gas posts that leak VERY slowly on some kegs if I don't make sure they seat correctly.  if I'm drinking beer from the keg every few days it seems to not get oxidized.  it seems like the beer will decarb slightly faster than the head space can lose pressure so maybe O2 doesn't get in.  a faster leak and obviously it seems like some O2 could get in.

I keep a scale under my co2 tanks, if something was leaking, I would know. I'll drink it up until it becomes bland.

I was just thinking that maybe if your co2 tank wasn't all co2?  seems unlikely but I can't imagine how you exposed it to O2.

I had that happen to a beer before, and I think it was infection. It eventually had a purple cast after initially appearing dull, as your beer does. In my case, it was neglecting to clean the dip tube, I believe.

Very strange. I pretty much forgot about this keg. I just had one. It's as good as my last one, as far as I remember. Still decent for a hoppy beer.

Btw, it's still that weird, grayish color to it.
