I bet I've made over 100 gallons of Drez inspired APA so why not make some more?

I change it a little every time b/c... I dunno.

10 gallons

19 lb Pilsen

3 lb CMC Pale Ale Malt

1 lb Crystal 15L

2 oz Crystal 40L (wanted to get rid of this so tossed it in)

Mash at 151F

30 min boil

1oz Bravo, 0.5oz Chinook @ 30 min

1.5 oz Chinook, 1oz Citra @ 0 min

3 oz Chinook, 2oz Citra, 1oz Bravo @ hopstand (150F)

Ferment on Verdant IPA Yeast

Dry Hop (per 5 gallon keg): 2oz Chinook, 2oz Citra, 0.5oz Bravo, 0.5oz Columbus

I think Drez is going to say my dry hop needs to be more bigger :D

done

I almost went in a completely different direction on the hops and was going to use all of my hops direct farmers blend #2 but I think I'm going to save that for my next brew.  I really wanted this one to be a fairly guaranteed home run.

Use those in an American Wheat beer with a clean yeast or even a Kolsch yeast.

I bet that would make a good beer too.  Brew it!

stuck sparge.  I think I disturbed the my false bottom.

I ended up essentially doing 4 BIAB drains in a 5 gallon paint strainer bag.  I ended up with 12.5 gal pre-boil which is about a gallon high for me.  I kind of want to do a hybrid BIAB system now.....

I have not had a stuck sparge in a long time and never since I went to BIAB. Well, I have not brewed in a long time either so I guess that means nothing ...lol

FG at 1.019 seems a little high but tastes fine after 1 week of fermentation.  thinking of leaving it a little longer though.

Despite the high fg this beer is really good and I haven't even dry hopped it yet. I wish it would stay like this but I know it won't.

So this time around there has been essentially no drop in quality over time. And this beer got HSA to the moon and back.

so making this again with some changes noted below:

replacing 11lb of pilsen with 2-row to conserve pilsen for future light colored lagers.

changing up the hops:

1oz bravo @ 30

1oz simcoe, 2oz azacca @ flameout

2oz simcoe, 3oz azacca, 1oz bravo @ hop stand

dry hopping TBD
