Is this funeral corn posted some place?
We are splitting up duties. I'm mixing cocktails and making hassleback potatoes (sp?). I was going to deep fry a turkey, but apparently Sam's club is doing smoked turkeys so we are going that route. Otherwise, i don't plan on doing jack schite

The usual here, but I love cooking on Thanksgiving and am glad we have hosted it for a long time. The whole family is up by like 5AM and all cook together and muh lady and I usually have some Irish coffee.

My parents always host. I would love to some time but for now it's important to my mom to do it. We will have about 20 people.
They always go traditional and won't deviate. Turkey is one of my least favorite animals to eat, but whatever I can do it a few times a year.
As for me, I am making a couple of cranberry curd pies, and my wife is contributing some sort of vegetable dish. She thinks she wants to do something with brussels sprouts

Hines here's the corn recipe. I call it funeral corn because I make it a lot for funeral luncheons at our Church. Everyone on the team raves about it. Melt the butter and cream cheese together on the stove before putting it in the crockpot.

Also, Thanksgiving in the Puceflange household is the day for Death in the Afternoon cocktails - absinthe and cheap champagne.........mmmmmm

No idea yet, I’ll be at home alone, and I’ll likely get Chinese food instead

Somewhere, right now, there is a small cage filled to capacity by a single, beakless bird. It spends its days bashing the remaining mush of its face against the wire, wishing it could stretch its clipped wings or even turn around. Its feed comes through tubes drilled directly into its stomach. Its garbled howls add to the great howling song of the mighty animal prison. One day soon, the bird will be pulled from that cage and know a full three seconds of freedom before it is chained upside down and throat slashed. Then it will be deburred, tarped in wet plastic filled with brining salts, and frozen.
That is my Thanksgiving dinner. *shakes* So. FA. KING. Hungry.
