Mash went fantastic, nailed numbers. The boil…..well….it didn’t get a full boil so I finished with about 7 g of wort. I pitched yeast starter into 6 gallons. Gravity was off .0225.

Drez jokingly said it will be a session Scottish ale. I need some help with a full boild

I think you need to do a water brew. Just fill with water and try to boil. You could also insulate the vessel. Maybe use a yoga pad or some refletex insulation... Or both. I wonder in 3.5-4g batches may be better.

I can look it up but do you know the wattage?

1800. The controller board has up to 2800, but they must use same board on two different wattage models

If i can boil with the lid on, in theory, i think i could do pretty close to 5.5 gallon boils.  I might try that tonight if the wife doesn't have a list of things for me to do.

If it's not an insulated vessel, adding some should get you where you need to be. I have the Anvil running with the same wattage, and it can boil a 5 gallon batch (has an insulated vessel). It's not a particularly fast boil, but it's a boil. My elevation definitely helps, though - boiling point is 200 degrees at my house.

this maxes out at 213 i think.  I'll try tinkering this week.

what insulation is on your anvil? a neoprene type thing or something else?

It's a double walled kettle.

Considering the readings and the dilution, I put the brew in mini kegs and some swing top bottles today.  Force carbing one mini keg right now.   It's beer, even if it won't get you drunk....
