If I just had access to a dictionary I could write software to come up with suggestions pretty easily. That kind of spoils the game though

I read something the other day where a guy wrote a script (maybe in python?) that determined the most effective initial guess to make.

 

 

also, if you wanted to cheat it's pretty easy.  if you inspect the page from chrome you can find a list of all of the answers for every day in order.  fortunately when I found it I didn't scroll over enough to see answers from the future.

I am playing this with a group of friends. The first time I played I didn’t realize we were all guessing the same word. Got real excited I got my first one so sent a screenshot shot on a group text. Whoops. Spoiler alert. I now know how to share via the share button that hides the letters.
