It is a pain to flip the flex over to save yeast with out making a mess so I am playing around with a new way to do it. I had the stuff sitting around the brewery so it was no costs.  Next time I will add a second butterfly valve so I can seal off the car better. This go seams to be lots more hope particles than yeast but it is a start.

that looks like a pint jar.  would using a full quart jar help?  even if your ratios stayed the same then you'd have 2x as much yeast (maybe?).

With my Blichmanns I dump a little first and toss it (mostly hop crud) and get mostly yeast slurry on the second dump

is there something stopping drez from doing that here?  having not done this myself I'm not in tune with the common struggles.

Yeah, the flex does not have a bottom dump valve.

I think a bigger jar would help but I used what I had available. I will upgrade for the next try.

That's surprising.  Mine had an elbow which I didn't use since I have the leg extensions.  Gets that plug out a little easier (15 gal)

The flex was designed to be a bucket fermenter vs a regular conical. It works perfect for my brew setup but I always have to tinker and fix a problem that may not really be one.

My next trip to NH I will! Maybe the end of summer :)
