It'll be Civ IX soon enough. In 7 they'll remove diplomacy, in 8 they'll add it back in. 9 we lose city zoom or something trivial.

I have it on PC. I don't know how you'd play it on a console 
, but the main thing is that I'm still finding V more fun. Maybe if I played VI more, but they added a bunch of additional stuff to track.

V was and is the best so far.

They remapped the controls so you use the sticks in place of the mouse and buttons take the place of the keyboard. You can also use the touchscreen
