Last time I made this things were slightly different.

17lbs 2-row
3lbs marris otter (gp this time)
2lbs castle chocolate malt (this time maybe an extra ounce of two to finish the bag)
8oz crystal 80 (used 6oz ç40 and 2oz special B)
2oz black patent (1.5oz because I ran out)

so despite a slow start and a slightly higher than expected FG (1.015) I'm very pleased with how this beer came out.  very smooth and rich.  nice head retention.  I do like the character of the yeast in this kind of beer.  we'll see how I like it in something lighter and hoppy.

so normally my beers don't get better with a little age but this one did.  mmmmmmm mmmmmmmm!!!
