Mine was in 2002, extract IPA kit from Northern Brewer on the stovetop in my apartment. It wasn't bad at all.

Mr Beer kit that the kids got me. It was terrible but luckily I was able to find a local homebrew shop that said the problem was mostly dead yeast and no aeration as the problem. They set me up with a good extract kit and plastic fermenters. Within a\two year sI was doing all grain and my first all grain batch won a gold at the yearly competition.

My Beer for me too.  Christmas 2002 IIRC.  It was horrible, but I found the green board and figured it out.

Some time after I started brewing someone gave my brother a mr beer kit for Christmas. I offered to give him suggestions on procedure that might make it better but he opted to follow the instructions to the letter to see what happens. It was pretty bad. I mean it has alcohol but many off flavors and almost no body.

His bil and fil thought it was fine (bud light drinkers).
