Alright I had a decent night.  I didn't change worlds, just took some advice from a dude at work and got a club for the skellies, and used a shield.  I still haven't found any crypts, but I found copper and tin.  Took down two trolls by kiting with fire arrows and now I'm wearing their skin like the Vagus.  Played about two hours.

Crypts are where the skeletons hangout. So, if you're fighting them, you're close. orbit their spawn point and you should see an entrance.

I spent all evening searching, and my Black Forest is officially trash. Not a single crypt or burial mound. Nothing spawns but svartalfs. Two skellies were generated in a tower and no more spawned.

I got frustrated and spawned a new world. Within 10 minutes I'd found a crypt. Half an hour later I had 4 cores, 20 bone fragments and tons of loot.

Looks like I'm switching worlds.

Weird, you'd think they wouldn't put critical resources as potentially 0 in the seed.

So does the no teleport icon mean I can't take that stuff through a portal? This game's getting to be quite the grind.

Defeated the 2nd boss (the Elder) today

Im gunning for him this weekend. Worked 30 hours last weekend so i didn't get muh game time in.

Other than the swamp key, what does defeating him give?  I could take him now for sure, but I'm not at all ready for the swamp.

I got less time this weekend than i hoped. Scouted his little shrine and began moving assets into the area. Got the seeds, Skrok is draped in metal, swords, fire arrows. Thought about domesticating some boar, but i ate them instead. 2 kinds of shrooms, boar. He's ready.

The Elder is down.

 

Took more than 100 fire arrows to take him down.  I don't know exactly how many more than 100 would have done it because I only had 100.  Had to finish him off with an axe.

 

Just found a swamp, too.

Swamp is no joke. Got killed twice already - and that's with sausage, cooked meat, and queens jam.

Had it. Got killed by a 2 star drauger, then dinner kind of flying robe thing.

Yeah im not feeding Skrok sausage. I want him pure.

 

I get like 15 minutes of game time in after dinner these days. Not enough to psyche me up for the elder, so im just stockpiling and stabbing stuff. Haven't seen any swamp areas yet, but found Mountain. Froze to death almost immediately. I also haven't seen any beehives.

Can you get carrot seeds from planting carrots, or do they all come from the black Forest? I tried harvesting half and leaving half to flower, but it's been a while and no changes.
