I have a handful of the half growler (2 pints) squealers.  a few of them have caps that look like this that are great because they don't rust or get crud in them:

but I'm not so sure if this is the right size.  these say 38mm and I measured the diameter of the caps I have and it looks closer to 34-35mm.  do any of you guys know the size I'm looking for?  when I try to google 34 or 35 mm I just get suggestions for 38mm.

I see on the underside of the cap it says poly seal 19.  the link above has a 2.  my googling for poly seal 19 hasn't turned up anything yet...

Do you have a gallon jug with a cap laying around to see if that cap fits the squealer?

gallon jug?  no.  I only have the half gallon growlers (4 pints) and quarter gallon squealers (2 pints).

and to be clear that 35mm I'm measuring is the outer diameter of the cap.  inner is probably more like 32-33mm.

I bought some of these awhile back for half gallon growlers but they didn't fit right I don't think. Like the threads were different. I will have to double check.

my squealers have smaller openings than most half gallon growlers.  the threads are also bigger and more spaced out.

does the 38mm refer to something to do with the thread and not the diameter?

I suspect it is the diameter b/c my full sized growlers (half gallon) seem like they have a 38mm diameter top.

I think this might be what I need:

33/400 refers to diameter and then thread count.
