We had a cheesy potato, cubed ham gratin casserole with a bechamel sauce. Pure comfort food. Threw some cauliflower in on a pan to roast as well.


That sounds good in this weather.

I’m making broccoli soup. Last time he was here my Dad bought an ungodly amount for frozen broccoli at the market. It never got used, and I need freezer space.. So it’s basic... 2 x 1lb bags of frozen broccoli crowns, water, Better Than Bullion Roasted Chicken(I can never stop thanking Aspen for exposing us to this magical elixir) simmer for 30 minutes, blitz with the immersion blender, season... profit

Yeah, Better Than Bouillon is the good stuff. Try it with ramen noodles instead of the foil pack.

 

Weather is nice outside so, it's Burger Night!

My wife is going to dinner with her friends so I just got back from the store.  A skirt steak marinated in chipotle salsa, garlic, salt and pepper, some jalapeno cheddar rice and frioles charros... all washed down with beer.  Giddy up.

I'm making some carnitas right now but that's for this weekend.

 

tonight is pan pizza.  half will have sausage/onions/peppers, other half just cheese.
