I see there are gamma lids and leak-tite (home depot). is there a good deal out there? what I'm seeing now is $7-15/lid!

I am not sure I have seen Gamma lids for less than 7 bucks. I would just get the hommer bucket lid and keep on keeping on!
Before I went and upgraded a bucket with a gamma lid, assuming this is for grain, I would just get this https://www.amazon.c...,aps,165&sr=8-1
you can not beat that price.

did you try a second order?
Yeah, no go. I guess I'll make sure I like these first three before I order more.

So I've got my three VVs. What is the recommended cleaning procedure before use? Sponge with soapy water and a good rinse and dry?
That's what I have done.

o-ring is messed up on one so getting a replacement/return on that one.
also one is quite smooth inside but the others are a little rough. shouldn't really matter but it seems like they need a little work on their QA.

so if you fill these up they are not stackable. they can't support the weight. I'm glad I only bought three for now b/c my current space that I store grain (a closet) isn't big enough to fit all of my grain in one layer of these things.

I'm thinking I might make some sturdy shelves in that closet. it will make it more useable for sure.

busted out some shelves. Now I just need 3 more vittles vaults for my second shelf and my brew closet is going to be better than ever. who would have thought that brewing and closet design would overlap like this?

Here are my shelves. I ordered three more of the VV containers so all of the HD buckets will go into those. There are a few more HD buckets I couldn't fit in the closet because it's kind of designed to fit VV containers now. Bonus shelf installed for beer and pantry overflow items as well.
the shelves are my childhood ping pong table that was pretty beat.
