First glass. I wouldn't confuse this with a lager at this point. Very decent beer but not a lager (or pseudo lager). Still, I'm happy with my first time using my 10 G Torpedo and first pressurized transfer.

No doubt. I'm getting zero of that Mandarina Bavarian, tho. Maybe I'll dump the rest in the keg (4oz). Perhaps, I'm too jaded by the tropical hops, where I expect an explosion of flavor. It is totally drinkable now but I wouldn't mind a little "something" extra.

It packs a punch - that is for sure! My wife actually likes it, too.

This has really smoothened out. Getting closer to an "Imperial Lager". Deadly but niiice...

so going back and looking at what you made it seems like this deserves it's own thread LOL!  Our recipes are fairly different but in any event if I helped in some way I feel good about that

You got me on the road to 2 great beers (Baltic porter, as well) that I will definitely be brewing again. Thanks.

I still have a little bit left.  I've been hitting other kegs just to see how it ages.  I'll likely kill it soon.

Tomorrow I'm making a somewhat big lager. 14# of grain will probably put me in the 7.5-8% range. I have a 34/70 yeast cake from the other day that is still under pressure and refrigerated. Gonna make this a NZ lager with Green Bullet, Wakatu, and Nelson Sauvin (maybe some Moteuka, too).

Not surprisingly, active fermentation kicked in quickly. I added the wort to the Torpedo keg at 830 last night. This morning it was under 20 psi and gravity dropped 15 points.

My latest finished on the dry side again at 1.006. I think I'll do a big lager on the yeast cake and let it age into the fall/winter.

In my short lager history, I'm getting 3 batches (twice now) from a single pack of 34/70. Pretty economical!

Put my Torpedo of NZ pils in the fridge for cold crash. Hopefully, I transfer Monday morning and add my next lager wort on top of the yeast cake. No cleaning, no bother!

I find I like 34/70 more on subsequent batches but it's still pretty decent on gen 1.
