Thanks to the PH thread, 2 neighbors that mentioned they previously brewed and me needing to make a decision to either start brewing or get all that suff out of the garage.   Beautiful 70 degree sunny day and I showed my 2 neighbor brewers all grain.

I had everything prepped and started strike water at 7:45. I mashed inside and had the sparge water ready when the 2 guests arrived for an outside brew day.

Simple pale ale/IPA   10 lbs 2 row, 1 lb white wheat, 1/2 lb crystal 20l.  I did 1 oz CTZ at 60, 20, 1 and plan to dry hops an oz or two of cascade. This used to be basically my house beer that was always on tap.

I hit all my numbers and ended with 1.062 for 5 gallons (I usually try to get 5-1/2 into the fermenter but I think my boil was a little more aggressive with the turkey fryer burner vs my usual kitchen stove.

Flame out was around noon and by 5pm I have positive pressure on the airlock  so I can't be happier.

US-05 dry yeast.  I always have good luck with it and didn't want to do liquid and a starter on my first brew in over 3 years.

Weird using pellet hops again I used to have an ample supply of Columbus, Cent and Cascade  homegrown hops.

05 is a house yeast for me.

I use 05 for virtually all my American style ales, which is the bulk of my brewing. 04 has been responsible for every fermenter eruption I've had. Tasty results, though. I bought some for an upcoming mild.

Welcome back. I restarted a couple months ago after a long hiatus (5-6 years). I brewed today too.

Yeah this. Once I popped the cooler top for the first time to sparge the feeling of happiness returned.

Brewing today.  Nice out and I am trying to get back into the swing of things.  I should have started earlier but was lazy.
