is 1100W enough to handle chest freezers and stuff? I can't remember what my STC1000 can handle. I'm going to guess less...
at this price it almost seems worth having as a backup.

Not sure. Have to look at the freezer, quick google search shows 5amps running and 8amps starting. This is good for 9ish amps

allegedly the STC1000 is good to 10 amps but maybe a little more.
what are you thinking of using this for?

Control the heat and cooling on my Flex+. At some point I am going back to work so it would be nice to have that and the tilt in there so I can adjust on the fly if needed.
