The Woody guitar took awhile. The neck he wanted is a birdseye maple with a boat v shape. It is super cool and we will be getting some great close up pics of it soon. 

 

Mean while, we are launching a brand building campaign using the shorts/reel format. Also, pod casts are starting soon.

These guitars really do sustain forever. And they all do it, even the acoustic 1841 rings out like this. It kind of freaks out the acoustic only players because they haven't experienced the sustain of even a normal electric.

We are priced on the lower end of the boutique market. As we gain traction in the market, the prices will go up. We discussed that at length and used our experience in building the cigar box and T35 guitars in the last 12 years. Cheaper guitars is a pretty full market and very hard to get any share. So many fish in that sea. And the amount of effort put in to build a pile of product with a penny of profit each is tiring compared to making a few high end items gaining a buck each. While you might end up in the same place financially, the amount of work needed is staggering going the low priced route. 

 

The number of part line items needed is pretty amazing. There are 40 different items and 95 total parts.  I make 75% of those here, in house. And we aren't skimping on the quality. Yes, you can buy a 250k pot for $3, but the one we like is $12. And there's three of them. When you don't buy based on price, the costs skyrocket fairly quickly. That one piece roasted swamp ash blank for Woodie Larson's guitar was $300. His roasted birdseye maple neck was $500.

 

Speaking of roasted wood, our suppliers are telling us they are having a hard time getting it or having it done. To fill that need, I will be getting an inert gas oven fairly soon so we can roast the wood in house. The last body blanks we bought were $100 extra per piece. Necks cost $80 more for roasting. It's a pile of money to get set up but I think it could turn into a profit center if we run it every day.
