She had a rough night yesterday - today will be worse with the fireworks.  She's German - should be able to handle it

no, it's a common pet antihistamine, it has a mild sedative effect like benadryl

One of the benefits of gun dogs is the noise doesn't seem to bother them

Got that too. Sometimes, the little one is to worked up to take cookies. We sometimes have to force eye drops of oil down her throat.

We will be giving benadryl to the pit bull to chill her out. The chihuahua doesn't seem to care about fireworks. Fearless little ####er.

Oddly, my big girl just barks, not upset. My little gets extremely upset. Crazy upset. She stays between my legs and shakes. She's fearless against anything except thunder/noise.

She's a German Short Haired Pointer.  Never would have made it on a hunt

My Chessie was fine with hunting, the shotgun didn't bug her one bit, because she was trained to know the gun meant boom!

Thunder and or loud fireworks, nope, scared her.

We tried giving benadryl to our dog that freaks out over fireworks, never phased her.
