Doritos Sweet Chili are the single best stand alone snack food.

Utz Snowballs were in the running, but their availability is too limited. Chili Cheese Fritos are a perennial favorite, but they just can't beat that sweet chili.

Salty. Sweet. Heat. Umami. Doritos have won the day.

I have spoken.

Andy Capp would disagree.

I would argue that flamin hot Cheetos have surpassed hot fries. In general the selection of hot snacks are more common than they were in the 70-80s. Back then it seemed like Andy capp was the most common option. I rarely see Andy capp today, I am actually surprised he is stilled used for marketing considering the domestic violence that was common in the cartoon (not to mention skipping rent and drinking)

A few years ago Doritos reissued the original taco flavor. The flavor was very one dimensional not what I remembered. But that chip was in the early days of chip flavoring science

There goes the Simpson’s marketing machine

my 16 year old decided he was going to bing on the Simpsons a few months ago. He is finally up to season 30. I watched a few of the early episode. Homer was pretty abusive, I think they would have a hard time getting the same following that they did in 1989

Blows my mind that a cartoon can go on for 30 years.

Homer choking Bart is maybe the longest running gag on the show.
They already had to get rid of Apu

It still holds up. I’ve been rewatching them all. Haven’t watched new episodes a long time. Probably 14-15 years so that will be fun when I get there

Bart isn't nearly as bad as he was then, either.  Most of his early catchphrases like "Eat my shorts" are no longer used.

Well uhh, a lot of the jokes were contextual to 1989.  A good question is whether season 30 is attracting new followers in this hellish age.
