Unexpected guest in the chicken coop

Not sure if this is the same rat snake we used to see around the coop last year but if he is he got big fast.

How could it be the same one? You're telling me you the first time you caught it, you didn't kill it then chop it up and burn the pieces? :crazy:

Nope too big for him to bug them.  They came running in when I fed them and he was in the room.   If I would let them sit on a clutch of eggs and hatch them he would get em so I don't let em nest anymore.

He is free rodent control, if he takes an egg here or there I am not going to fault him.   Still makes me jump every time I go in there and he is in there.

all snakes give me the willies, it's a very instinctive visceral reaction, but yeah leave the good ones be

This right here.  Only kill things that need killing.  Rat snakes don't rise to that level.
