Fellas, an old beer friend says hello and began his own forum for the love of the craft.  Go say hello to Ken :)

I registered but I probably won't hang around there.  I wish Ken had bailed on being a mod and stayed around.  I'm hanging here.  FWIW I sent him a PM from here, then saw on the other place he nuked everything so I deleted my PM to him.

I think he tried but it wasn't granted. I agree with you though.

not sure I quite get why he couldn't be demoted to regular forum poster and stay here but probably best not to dwell on that.  I can appreciate a more beer-centric forum but this has been tried a few times without much luck.  these days I can't say I'd do much to generate a lot of traffic around there.  brewing has slowed way down lately due to covid-19 related stuff.

You still going to pursue the electric route?

it is still the plan for sure!  step one is get 240V to the garage.  I think I'm going to do something like a 100A panel in a convenient location for brewing and other future use.  I just need to decide on a location.  putting it close to where I'll be brewing could be good but I'm not sure if that is the ideal location with regards to likely future electric car charging needs.

From what I remember of the pic you posted it looked like your brew kettle was in front of your cars and in the middle of the garage. That seems like it would be a good place to put it.

it would be kind of centered on one of the two spots in the garage.  I guess I kind of imagined car chargers are on the wall next to the cars which means I'd be running all the way past one car and then back along a similar path to get back to it.  probably warrants an MS paint drawing :P

eta:  I'm seeing some charging options for teslas are 60A!  holy hell.  I was thinking 100A was already possibly overkill but maybe I'd want to go slightly higher just to future proof things?

I guess he wants to know when mike green or brewboy logon.  I still don't get this.  I have not seen anything but reasonable posting in the beer forum.

Anything less than a quaternary results in a hazy beer.
