Big brother is not pleased though. We're going to have to work hard on socialization.

You shouldn't talk about TPW like that...

So far play time is about 10-15 min a time then nap for at least an hour. She slept through the night and no messes in the house yet, but we're being vigilant.

How much does she weigh? For reference our female chocolate was 9lbs at 8 weeks and is 65 at 12 months. Our male yellow was 14lbs at 8 weeks and at 40 at 4 months.

She seems so small but she's 8 weeks 5days old and she's 11lb. Her 2 brothers that were with her looked to be about 1lb bigger than her.

My Chessie female was just 8 lbs at 8 weeks, never broke 65 lbs.  She came from a Field Trial line not show dogs, her sire was only 80 lbs soaking wet and dame just 70.

I don't think she's a field dog. Shes so friggin chill it's nuts. I remember when I was 15 I had a lab puppy and I was constantly playing with him. This little girl is done in about 10 minutes. She's peed and pooped exclusively outside so far and seems to be really smart. She's already taking to commands like come. She's eager to please and holy shit is she friggin cute!

Ok, so last night sucked. We go to bed and put pepper in the dog crate next to the bed. Immediately she starts crying. 45 minutes straight. TPW caves and we put her in the bed on a towel. Wait till she falls asleep and try again... nope. 10 more minutes and TPW says, shhhh pepper, I don't negotiate with terrorists. 2 minutes later she's back on the bed happy as a clam. Then she snuggled up to me all night by my head. I had to move her and she growled at me. It was the cutest growl ever. Woke up to puppy kisses. We gotta figure this out because her brother is already afraid of her and her whining set him off and got him worried too. He got down next to the crate and was either trying to comfort her or eat her im not sure yet.

Holy shit I think I brought home a gremlin.

Playing with the pup and she's puppy biting like crazy. I try and calm.her down and she's going ape shit. So I pick her up so she can't bite or get away and she growls ferociously at me and is wriggling like a snake. Finally she stops and I put her down gently. Nows shes a little pissed at me for putting her in her place. 20 more minutes and she'll be passed out.

I set up an obstacle course in the back yard and she's doing well. Added benefit is the older lab is doing WAY better with socialization with the puppy and he's getting a lot better with his nervousness with floors and such. He'll do a 180 on the board now even with it bouncing around. I really wish I had done this a long time ago, but I didn't start looking for puppy training stuff until we pulled the trigger on the pupper.

And the granddog had to watch the puppy this week since TPW is working. He's doing a good job!
