I'm not sure what enforcement options the government's have, but this is a terrible idea. All the jails and prisons across the nation are in a panic. My facility only has 2 negative air flow cells for males and one for females. We can't get enough cleaning supplies. Everything is on back order. Once it gets inside, it will spread like wildfire among staff and prisoners alike. Soon there won't be enough staff to run the facilities and then you're proper ####ed.

Although we're doing everything we can at my facility to isolate and clean, I've pretty much accepted the fact that I will get it. Only a matter of time. But hey, it is the job I signed up for. Nurses, doctors and fire rescue aren't backing down. I'll be damned if I will either.

Hawaii Gov. David Ige has ordered all state residents except for essential workers to remain at home for over a month due to the coronavirus pandemic — and is threatening jail time for anyone who disobeys.

People who go outside for reasons other than health care, food, picking up education materials, taking care of others, or exercise between March 25 and April 30 can be charged with a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Some of our local yahoos are all up in arms about this stuff, saying the virus isn't that bad (other than the one guy saying it's airborne) and this is just an excuse to force us all to submit to the government. :sarcasm:

That sucks, dude.

I think I saw it's a $500 fine and up to two years here. I doubt though it will be enforced unless you're a real asshat.

I agree. Monetary fines are probably better for this. Or just post people's faces on the Pekin PD Facebook page.

Lol. Ummm...

I think he meant "what virus?"

if some of these extra-governmental abilities that have been taken during this outbreak and not rescinded 100% i can totally see people being pissed off about it.  some folks are viewing this whole thing as a govt power grab at the cost of liberty.

Some cities are removing hoops from public courts because basketball Americans are not in compliance with shelter in place.

I'm moving this weekend.

I called the movers and they said their attorneys say they are "essential."  Works for me!

I can't see any way they charge you with something in this arena unless you are just belligerent about it.

Misdemeanor in MI.

Just saw 3 police cars pull up to a Great Clips with lights on inside. The decree right before the all stay at home was to close salons and such. Almost stuck around to watch.

Hell, I'm fine working from home, going to the store, (as little as possible) and going out doors for exercise, (hitting the lake with paddle boards). I can social distance like a mofo.

Walks are fine, but when you drive to the store, passing a park on the way with 25+ people playing tennis, basketball, soccer, etc it’s kind of unnerving

I cross the street when I see people coming. There was a black couple coming down the street and I didn’t want them to think I was racist but didn’t want to risk the ‘rona. So I crossed the street and just yelled out to them that I wasn’t crossing the street because the were black, just social distancing.

Just kidding tho
