This is a good movie. I’m not a car or racing guy and I still enjoyed pretty much every minute of it.

I enjoyed it.  The only knock I’ve seen, is they glossed over, or flat out omitted some of the other engineers contributions.  That part didn’t bother me at all, but it bothered the hard core Ford dorks.

Netflix?

redbox for me

I thoroughly enjoyed this flick

Matt Damon as Shelby kept reminding me of Tommy Lee Jones, but it was great, the real star was the audio of the cars in full surround

I have not seen it yet.

How did they tell the ending?

IMHO Ford screwed miles over at the end making him slow down so they could have a photo finish and let McLaren win. Miles winning the triple crown would have overshadowed the Ford.

That's about exactly how the movie portrayed the race end, Ford wanted all 3 GTs to finish together for a pretty photo, but it gave McLaren instead of Miles the win by virtue of his start further back, having traveled more distance in the 24 Hours.

Did they play it out that Ford knew they were screwing him to prevent him for getting the triple crown and let the focus be on Ford or an honest mistake by Ford not realizing the rules. The third option is make McLaren the bad guy

They just left it that he got screwed. The movie moved on to how he died after that.

It’s a great movie, and I’m surprised it didn’t have a better showing at the Academy Awards, etc...

Great movie. It was one to see in the theater, unless you have great sound at home.

Just watched this tonight.  My son watched both this and Jo Jo Rabbit tonight.  Only one left for him is 1917.

I enjoyed every minute of this movie.  Usually at this time of the night during a weeknight movie I'll doze off a bit.  Did not happen tonight.  This is a movie I can see watching again on a cold, rainy day.

... omitted some of the other engineers contributions. ...

Yea, one of the Deacons in a church I used to go to was on the GT-40 team. So he comes over and looks at my Manta Mirage and starts making suggestions. Natch he'd like to see a 302 Cammer in there instead of the 327 Chevy. From there he goes into really esoteric stuff. We can teflon coat this and.... After a bit I had to say STOP!! Who do you think I am? I don't have Henry Ford II's wallet! He thought that was funny.

Good Lord willin' one of these days I'll get  it on the road.

Now I don't think Bruce deliberately chose to be a bad guy it just worked out that way. Did the Ford exec know he'd stick it to Miles? Probably.

I'm just honked off that there was a driver faster than Bruce. But if you design and test the car, naturally you have a much better feel for what it can do .. and CAN'T!

Photo finishes say a lot.

At Monza a year back, Toto Wolf had Lewis slow down so Valtteri Botas could catch up for a photo finish. I think the instructions to Lewis were:

"Slow down for Valtteri, we want a nice picture so we can send our Italian friends a message that there is absolutely no doubt who won this race."

The "Italian friends" of course was Ferrari. The same guys Ford wanted to send a message to a few decades earlier.
