Screwball Peanutbutter Whiskey

My wife heard about it on the radio and thought it sounded fun.  It's not.

Tastes like weird Irish cream.  WAAAAAY too sweet.  It's about twice as sweet as sweet tea, ending up about the same as triple sec.  There's a recipe on the side for a "PB&J Old Fashion" but it's just too sickeningly sweet.

It might have some use if you use it like a mixer in small amounts, but it's definitely not for drinking like whiskey.

I'm actually thinking about dumping the rest of this drink.

a friend forced me to do a shot, it was like syrup.  needed to cut by at least 50% with a stronger bourbon like turkey 101 or something

God, seems like most people like sugar way more than me. Peanut butter doesn't need to really be sweet, but this stuff was like nasty pb candy. The peanut flavor was definitely pretty accurate, though.

That's what I thought.  It's legitimately viscous.  yuck.

They came with southern comfort, and we said nothing.

They came with fireball, and we said nothing.

Then they came with peanut butter syrup, and there were no men left to say anything.

I tried it. It's exactly what a dog tastes while licking the crust off its nuts.

My brother is big on this local peanut butter beer.  It tastes a lot better than it sounds.

a local brewery did a peanut butter stout that was, well, unique.  it was no where near as awful as skrewball but also something I would only order once or twice a year, kinda like the annual big mac crave

Catawba Brewing did a Peanut Butter and Jelly Time beer. It was a Raspberry, Nut Brown Ale and was actually pretty good.

Screwball is awful! I had it recently at my local bar. Our waitress kept telling us how good it was, that should have been my first clue not to drink it.

Yup. Though contrary to Lou’s funny statement I have trash talked fireball whenever it comes up. Responses: “But dude it’s a fun shot”, etc... um maybe if you don’t like actual booze.
