I've been looking at this #10 can of Marion Berry and FINALLY started a melomel with it. And when Marrion was re-elected mayor of DC I had to do it. Now it is an old can and although I know you're supposed to throw the fruit in last I was a bit worried as to the integrity and taste. So I grabbed my funnel and poured it into a better bottle. The fruit tasted OK. I figured I'll go with a non-boil approach. I guess you can say this was a Hail-Marion play. Then I put in 15 pounds of clover and while rinsing out the bottles it dawned on me I use buckets for mead primary. DOH!

I now had to xfer all that goo into a bucket. Proofed 3 packs of Cote Des Blanc and threw that into the bucket. Pectic Enzyme and yeast nutrient. Rinsed out the better bottle and added that to the bucket. Water to 5 1/2 gal. OG 1.100 according to the hydro,  Refracto sez 22.25 Brix. Grabbed the drill and stirrer and whipped the snot out of it. We'll see.
