My old Dell laptop was pissing me off. So I jumped on Newegg and saw a Asus ROC STRIX GL10CS on sale.

I pushed add to cart and it delivered last night.

My laptop is a ssd Asus. It was cheap and works fine. I don't do a lot but I do use it for photo editing of raw files from a 24mb camera. It handles them fine

ROGs are not cheap, they're strong.

Picked mine up for a tad over $700 with no monitor and cheap keyboard and mouse. Got a Newegg $200 off sale.

Ha, I got accused of hacking on my own server by a guest. If you are going to accuse someone of a wall hack, you better know what one looks like. This Asus has really stepped up my game.

I can't stand the Asus keyboard.  I had one and it was so hard for me to use that I replaced the laptop.  I got a Lenovo at Costco a couple of weeks ago.  I'm still working on transferring all my files to it.  I've been so busy that I haven't had the time to use it yet.  Hopefully I'll be completely set up this weekend.  I just have a newsletter to write first.

Agree, its just a basic keyboard. At some point I will replace mine too.

Yeah, the flat small keyboard isn't great. But my "throw it in a backpack and go anywhere" computer is an Asus.

Yes, mid tower. I found that I really never took my laptop with me as expected. Pretty much everything I do portable I can do on my Ipad. Wife gave me her old Ipad and keyboard/case. Its an older Ipad 2 Air.

It's not that the keyboard isn't great, it was horrible.  I didn't have a problem with a laptop keyboard until the ASUS.  I needed a new computer and was going to get an ASUS on Scott's recommendation.  I tested his for 10 seconds and realized that I couldn't mail order a computer.  We headed down to Costco, and I was just fine with the Lenovo.  It was a really good deal, so I'm happy.  Today I start moving over files.  I'm setting up two work stations in the house to use it for work.  I write the catalog in my office upstairs, but we also would like to use it downstairs during the busy season doing envelope edits and website design.  I have to get a monitor, keyboard and mouse for that station.

Sorry to hear about the Lenovo. I sincerely home you get many trouble-free months out of it, but experience tells me you shouldn't expect it.
