I've never bittered with amarillo before, so I can't speak to that. I would imagine a heavy dose of dryhops would be in order also, but other than that, I like the looks of it! I like the marris otter base. A little too expensive for my check book but that and the Munich should be really nice backdrop for all the hops.Cheers!Chris

Chad, I like your recipe. I think it looks good, nice amount of crystal and a great addition of Munich too. I have brewed a few IPA's of the american variety with Marris and they have come out great. I like your hop schedule too. I too have never bittered with Amarillo but it is my fav flavor/aroma hop as well. I think at 58 and your use of the hops as you show you might get a smoother bittering. I say give it a go as you show it. I am just finishing up a fermentation with 1272 on an Amber and I know its a great yeast as well. Hope it turns out well.

Thanks for the tips boys! That's why I come to this board....for more sets of eyes on what I'm doing. I've tinkered with the recipe a bit based on a couple of the suggestions and what I've got available. I think it's a little better. See below...********************************************************************OG - 1.064FG - 1.013SRM - 13IBU - 58ABV - 6.7%10 lbs. - Maris Otter Crisp3 lbs. - Munich Malt 10L.66 lbs. - Crystal 40L.5 oz. - Northern Brewer (8% AAU) 60 mins..5 oz - Northern Brewer 8% AAU) 30 mins.1 oz. - Cascade (7.4% AAU) 30 mins..5 oz. - Centennial (10% AAU) 15 mins.1 oz. - Amarillo (8.5% AAU) 5 mins.1 oz. - Centennial (10% AAU) F/O...steep for 15 mins1272 American Ale IIMash at 150...ferment at 68*******************************************************************I think I like this better! I definetely want that citrusy finish that the Amarillo's give...thanks for the tip Blueboarders!
