Their prices are going up starting on Monday, 1/6/2020, so if you need something now, go ahead and get it ordered before tomorrow night.

Not sure how much of their inventory is going up, or by how much, but I've gotten several emails from them, and on their FB page, saying that prices are increasing.

Just a heads-up.

When they have their sales, they'll probably still have great prices.

This thread prompted a purchase.  A sack of Swaen Pils, a sack of Swaen Pale Ale and 10 pounds of Swaen wheat.  I am getting close to the end of my current supply so the timing is good.  $140 total including delivery.  One bag of Maris Otter at a local place that sells by the sack is over $100 by itself.  I realize that MO is probably better malt than the Swaen Pale Ale but I'm okay with it.  Cheers and thanks.

I did the same last week, when I saw just how soon the price increase date (1/6) was.  Ordered a sack of Avangard pils and Munton's Maris Otter; don't really need both (yet), but since they say prices are going up, and they didn't say exactly on what items/ingredients, etc., I figured "why not" and ordered.  Also ordered another Vittles Vault from Amazon, since my current Vaults are all full or nearly full.

And I hear you loud and clear on local grain prices.  I'd be hard-pressed to ever go back to my LHBS.

I have sacks of Simpson's GP, Avangard Pils and Barke Pils... all of which are very, very light.  I also just measured out the last of my wheat for a brewday TODAY.  LP has been an excellent source of grain and I think I first heard about them from Chils.

Chils, come back!!

Heads up, I just got an email that says they're having a sitewide sale, on top of a "glitch" that kept their 2019 prices. I think I'm going to place my first online malt purchase!

I think you'll see that you can save some money.  I have mentioned the malt prices at Brew & Grow (for full sacks) and LP can deliver sacks to my house for less (quite a bit less).  I *did* get a sack of Weyerman Barke Pils from What's Brewing in Palatine for $64 which I thought was excellent for a local place.  But I just paid $48 for Swaen Pils and $50 for Swaen Pale Ale.  I think you'll like it.

Its not just LP- was planning on some future buys on morebeer.com for full bags- shipping prices have shot up from last year. last year, for example, a bag of TF Pearl was $68 to the door, as of right now, its $86.

Do we think that LP tricked people by saying that prices were going up and then said "whoops, a glitch kept our prices the same!  :o " just so they would get a big bump in sales?  Honestly, LP has so many sales that even if their prices went up, their sales are still good.

Yea, I'm not sure if it's a trick, but having what I want at a discount is good enough for me!

I'm new to Label Peelers... Prices look great, but their site navigation leaves something to be desired!

On top of saving money (which is crucial), I think that even if i broke even in shopping at my LHBS vs. online, the convenience of having grain shipped right to my garage door is more than worth it.

No more fighting traffic to get to the LHBS, navigating the zoo of people that always seem to be there when I can make it in, waiting forever to weigh out my own grains (last time I was there, they had one (1!) scale to serve the gaggle of customers there to weigh out grain) and then checkout, lugging them out to the car, navigating traffic back home, then lugging them down the stairs to my basement.

Yeah, screw that noise.

Yeah... I saw that...

They used to have links to products that they didn't carry.  When you went to GRAIN, there was an option for WEYERMANN but when you hit it there was a message saying NO PRODUCTS IN THIS CATEGORY or something.  It's not great but I'll accept it in the spirit of affordable malt.  :P
