Official PH Weight Loss Challenge Thread - Round 1

Now that we've over indulged on turkey and pie and leftovers for a few days, it's time to begin...

 

This will be Round 1 of X (we'll keep it going until we can't get enough participants).  Each round will be 3 months and entry is $25 per round.  First round will start this Friday and end Friday 2/28/2020.  The winner will be based on % weight loss.  All results will be submitted to me via PM on 2/28 and I will announce the winner and post results.  We're on the honor system here, so be honest.

 

If you're in, put your name down here and I will PM you my Venmo for payment.  Each round will be winner-take-all.

 

 

You can post your starting weight here on Friday or send it to me via PM.  If you want you can include a goal weight and stretch goal.

I stand by to offer training and nutritional advice. It's all stuff you can find on the internet, but i make it read like puppies are dying when you bite into a donut. Oh and the sexual stuff too. Winner of the first round gets an additional prize of appearing as or designing a character for realms' anchor III. It's a little late for II.

I'm unofficially in. Meaning I'm not paying money or expecting to collect any. But I'm gonna try to lose 40 lbs along with y'all.

I'm not in but I have cut back on beer a bit, I've been to the gym quite a few times over the past few weeks and there are bananas in the house. So that's a start. :P Good luck to all.

A couple of months ago my goal was to lose 40 lbs but I've managed to put on 10 lbs in the that time, so I'm up to 50 lbs maybe a bit more.  My goal weight is 215 and my stretch goal is 185.  I'm ~265 now.

 

 

I won't be doing any keto, fasting, low carb, paleo, etc.  I will expend more calories and consume less.  That is all.

A couple of months ago my goal was to lose 40 lbs but I've managed to put on 10 lbs in the that time, so I'm up to 50 lbs maybe a bit more.  My goal weight is 215 and my stretch goal is 185.  I'm ~265 now.

pretty close to where i'm at, about 255 with a goal of sub 200, my stretch goal would be in the 180's somewhere.  beyond that I actually begin to look sickly.

I've never been below 195 and it took an immense amount of exercise to get there.  Definitely not long term sustainable without extreme changes to eating habits.  215 is sustainable.

I'm at about 250 right now.  My goal is 215 to 220.  Anything below that and I'm hangry most of the time.

Damn, you guys are big. I don't think I have ever been over 200 but I'm only about 5'8". I think my metabolism has saved me.

Also... is it wise to start a weight-loss gig right now before the holidays? Instead of awarding the person who loses the most, maybe you should award the person who gains the least. :lol:

well, i'm also somewhere between 6 and 6-1 so while I'm fat, i'm also not some short little bowling ball either.  my brother on the other hand is about 5-9 or 5-10 and he's a bit heavier than me, only by a couple pounds, but he looks a LOT heavier than me.

Can’t get on something like this till after Jan 1, the indulgence continues through end of year.

I am 200-205 right now my ideal is 170, I would be fine <180 in real world. 2019 was a bitch with travel and such to maintain focus.

Wife wants to do the baton death march in March so I’d like to get in better shape and lighter for that to launch into summer training.

Seems like starting in early Jan and having Round 1 go thru the end of March would be better. Of course, I'm not participating so STFU, Ken! :lol:

I think it’s better to start now, to keep the indulgences in check.

Failing on your diet 4-6 days in the next month is better than no diet at all.
