Curious about the refrigeration during shipping? Is it a myth that eggs need refrigeration?

Is it a myth that eggs need refrigeration?

in the US the eggs go thru a cleaning process that strips away a layer that protects them from bacteria. Most of the countries do require the extra cleaning which leads to the need to refrigerate
