Anyone interested?

My wife's got a friend whose family could use some love. She asked me to post this and see if we would be willing to do our thing.

---
This is my friend Lindsi. She's 36. She is married with four kids. She was told by her neurosurgeon to celebrate the holidays with her family, and then get her affairs in order. Lindsi is scheduled for a third brain surgery this coming January, and due to an unrelated blood clotting condition, it becomes an incredibly risky surgery, from which she might not survive.

Lindsi has bilateral Trigeminal Neuralgia, otherwise known as "suicide disease". She was diagnosed as a teen, and as the condition is progressive, she has reached a point where the risks of the upcoming surgery outweigh the daily, excruciating pain she experiences.

She has had two MVD (microvascular decompression) surgeries, one of which was successful, as she has much less pain on one side of her face. Unfortunately, the other side didn't 'take', and she is at a point where her doctor wants to sever the nerve completely in order to provide her with a better quality of life. This means cutting into scar tissue (from the failed surgery) which presents a bleeding issue, and due to her clotting disorder, creates a higher risk of stroke and death.

I am hoping the surgery is successful with no chronic side effects (hoarse voice, inability to swallow, etc.). Lindsi has to spend a week prior to surgery getting off blood thinners, whilst under doctor supervision, and two weeks post op getting back on them. She lives in Ohio but her neurosurgeon is in California. She will be paying out of pocket for her pre & post op stay.

I can't imagine how she manages all of this while trying raise kids and be a wife. The other day she told me, "I’m at the point that I’d rather die trying to live my life, or ending(sic) it myself because I can’t live a life. I’m just surviving." I am hoping to help ease some of this strain by helping financially. For previous surgeries she has set up gofundme campaigns, but i think she feels she has already asked for help before and doesn't want to ask again. I asked her if it was okay to tell her story to you guys, as i know you're a generous group that might be able to help.

Anyone feeling generous?

My dad suffered from that disease. It is a terrible thing to endure. Has she tried the Gamma Knife surgery? Far less invasive than severing the nerve.

In, stuff like this reminds me how lucky, even with my history of medical issues, we are not to face stuff like this.

What is everyone's preferred method for handling the contributions? Paypal?

PayPal is fine.

Then other payments forced me to get Venmo and Square.

Got some donations already. Much appreciated! Dig out those wallets boys!

I can arrange alternate payment methods like Zelle or Venmo if needed, just say the word
